DigiPen  

DigiPen Institute of Technology, located near Seattle, Washington, is authorized to offer computer science, computer engineering and fine arts degree programs related to the field of digital interactive entertainment technology. DigiPen offers exploratory programs designed to introduce students of all experience levels to the fundamentals of game programming, 3D animation and robotics.

ACME Animation  

ACME Animation Online is an interactive community of learning and sharing knowledge about animated filmmaking and related fields. The site provides animation challenges, shows personal projects, gives and receives feedback and improves your knowledge and skill in this dynamic art form.

AccuNet/AP   The AccuNet/AP Multimedia Archive provides a sensory journey of photographs, audio sound bites, graphics and text spanning over 160 years of history. Student comprehension and recall skills improve with visually stimulating imagery meant for use in research papers, theses, reports and PowerPoint presentations.

From simple keyword searching to more complex searches such as concept, color and category, students enhance research projects with more than one million photographs dating back to 1826 and as current as a few moments ago, tens of thousands of graphics, audio files dating from the 1920's and news stories dating from 1997. Teachers can correlate the archives to state and national standards.

The Associated Press has won more Pulitzer Prizes than any other news agency and is the most credible source for non-biased reporting. Founded in 1848, the AP is the oldest and largest news organization in the world serving more than one billion people each day.

Stock Market Game  

The Stock Market Game Program
This free online education program for grades four and beyond that can help educators in the subject areas of math, economics and finance. Students apply their academic skills to a real-life situation as they manage an online stock portfolio.

The site now includes new differentiated curriculum and an updated Teacher Support Center. A recently developed partnership with the Sacramento Bee offers free newspapers to teachers who use The Stock Market Game.

Global Nomads Group  

Global Nomads Group (GNG)
Founded in 1998, the Global Nomads Group (GNG) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to heightening children's understanding and appreciation for the world and its people. Using interactive technologies such as videoconferencing, GNG brings young people together face-to-face to meet across cultural and national boundaries to discuss their differences and similarities and the world issues that affect them.

Programs aim to:
• Increase young people's knowledge of the world and its people.
• Increase collaboration and dialogue between students of different cultures and nationalities.
• Highlight critical world issues ranging from HIV/AIDS to global warming, to war.
• Provide an educational framework in which students can become the active leaders in their own education.

Over a three month period, GNG explores nine countries on three continents. Students ages 14-17 can experience the world through videoconferencing, Web logs, webumentaries (short video clips) and an interactive Web site.
